Experiment #11

Experiment #11

ACT ONE:  Imma Wannabe is madly in love with Justin Credible but he won’t give her the time of day.  Justin is not only the handsomest guy in town, he’s also very intelligent and therefore only dates girls who can stimulate his intellect as well as his libido.  Imma is beautiful in every way, face, body, personality; she’s the total package.  But Imma has one major flaw, one thing that keeps Justin at bay: Imma is day old dumb.  We’re not talking about intellect here, though she’s lacking in that category as well.  Imma has no brains at all.  She’s foolish, gullible, easily manipulated…unwise.  So much so that she doesn’t grasp the fact that the number of bills in your wallet is less important than the amounts on those bills.  After all, isn’t two always more than one?
Imma is determined to win Justin’s heart, but in order to do so she has to prove to him that she is wise as well as beautiful.  Imma knows of a place called the Central Intelligence Agency and she is certain that if she were to go there she would be able to purchase any degree of intelligence she wishes.  Surely a place called central intelligence sells brains, wisdom, knowledge, they probably even have bottles of the stuff on shelves and you can just pick the ones you want.  Can’t costs more than a few bucks, right? And she has eleven bills in her purse, all with different very ugly men on them, but eleven bills should suffice.

ACT TWO:  Imma’s journey to the CIA will take her through several cities and states where she will encounter many people.  But Imma’s greatest weakness, her naiveté, will be tested over and over again a s the people she encounters become aware of her gullibility, and too soon she finds herself out of money, without a car, and her cell phone battery is running low.  And just when she feels all is lost, she meets a couple who claims to have a cat that not only tells the future but can grant any deserving person one wish.  But that wish comes at a price and Imma must decide how willing she is to pay that price; how important is winning Justin’s love?

ACT THREE: Imma is back home, her journey complete.  She met the talking cat.  She made the sacrifice and received her wish.  But her journey has left more questions than answers and Imma is left to contemplate her life in an entirely new light.  She is changed but she isn’t sure what that means.  She isn’t sure what anything means anymore.
